Sometimes life changes faster than your sense of self can catch up.

Divorce, loss, burnout, betrayal, a career that ended, a relationship that reshaped you. Whatever moved the ground, you're allowed to need a minute to find your footing again.

Ryan works one-on-one with people who are rebuilding, whatever the cause: divorce, grief, a difficult relationship, a career that ended, or a season of change that left you needing to find your footing again. The work is practical, personalized, and built around where you actually are.

Who This Helps

Whatever changed the ground under you, you're allowed to need a minute.

Divorce, the end of a long relationship, or the quiet betrayal of trust broken by someone you loved. Grief that doesn't run on anyone else's timeline. A career that ended before you were ready, or a burnout that finally made you stop pretending you were fine.

Some of this shows up as a high-conflict divorce, difficult co-parenting, or a relationship that left you questioning your own perception, what people sometimes describe as narcissistic patterns, gaslighting, or coercive and controlling dynamics. If that's closer to your situation, more focused resources on high-conflict divorce and co-parenting are coming soon; for now, this is still the right place to start.

The common thread isn't the specific event. It's that the map you used to navigate your own life stopped working, and you haven't had a real chance to get your bearings.

You don't need a diagnosis, a crisis, or a dramatic story to belong here. You need a season that reshuffled things enough that you're rebuilding your footing, your routines, and your sense of who you are now. If your situation is less about a specific event and more about how your own mind works, Bell Guidance also offers neurodivergent coaching.

This work is for people ready to understand what's happening well enough to stop organizing their life around it, and to start deciding, deliberately, what comes next.

What May Actually Be Happening
The disorientation is real:
This isn't for you if:
  • The exhaustion isn't a character flaw, and the confusion isn't proof you're doing this wrong. A relationship, a role, or an identity you built a life around is gone or changed, and the systems you relied on, practical and emotional, don't quite fit anymore. You don't need to perform recovery on a timeline that makes anyone else comfortable. And real growth from here is possible, without pretending the loss was worth it.
  • You're in active acute crisis (please call 988).
  • You're looking for diagnosis or clinical treatment.
  • You want a quick fix.
  • You're not interested in the philosophical layer.

How Ryan Approaches It

Not a script. A way of seeing your situation clearly enough to act on it.

For two decades, Ryan's work has been pattern recognition under pressure: figuring out what's actually happening inside complicated systems, at NASA, NATO, the White House, and in Emmy-winning production work, when the stakes were real and the noise was loud.

The work here turns that same skill toward one system: your life, right now. Sessions may draw on a flexible rhythm of understanding what's really going on, reframing it without pathologizing, designing an approach that fits your circumstances, practicing it in real conditions, and adjusting as you learn more about what's working.

That means naming what changed, separating what's actually your responsibility from what isn't, and getting enough distance from the situation to see it clearly instead of just reacting to it.

If a difficult relationship or a high-conflict dynamic is part of the picture, the goal isn't to relitigate every interaction. It's to understand the pattern well enough that you stop organizing your life around it.

From there, the work is practical: deciding, deliberately, what you want next, and building the routines, boundaries, and sense of self that get you there.

Why Ryan

A shorter version of a longer story.

Ryan spent two decades leading production and strategy for NASA, NATO, the White House, and Emmy-winning broadcast teams, work that lives or dies on staying clear and steady when a lot is on the line.

None of that makes him a therapist, and he won't pretend otherwise. What it gave him is a practiced eye for pattern and structure, and for the moment a system, or a person, needs a different approach.

The credibility that matters most here, though, is lived: he has been through his own version of the ground shifting, and rebuilt from it.

That combination, systems thinking under pressure plus firsthand experience of starting over, is what he brings into the room with you.

You can read more of that story on the About page.
